Melanin a young, and God-fearing girl. Dedicated all her time to her family & God. Had few friends not much into social life but she loved her own company. Every time I asked Mel why with this kind of life? “I will rather be alone or in the company of two, but not in the bad company of many” replied Melanin.
Don’t worry!… but I loved her character in life compared to her age. She was just twelve years old!!!!
“I thank God He has helped me achieve it this far. I just passed my high school.” Melanin shouted with joy. Awww, “it’s what you leap, you sow”… I replied to her and she was so happy “you just summarized it all” she replies!
A year now, joined campus, she was already used to college life, but here she came across different kinds of people that she wouldn’t have imagined. Developed in her character and behavior but all in all, still the young, energetic, and God-fearing young lady. The only problem hard for her was to cope with how others thought of and treated her. As ‘Holier- than- that/ ‘smug’ lady but this didn’t change her attitude & to the advantage, it even built her positively with much love for others.
Why and how?
You know how campus life is and how it can be at times though it takes one’s personality to get you through. It’s either make it or not. She made it after all. It is a matter of knowing who you are.
Let me say with God by her side too… But at the same time, the devil is alert on the other hand waiting for your fall especially when your life is hidden in Christ Jesus.
Mel would tell me of how she used to pray for her life since young, for her family, friends, and to an extent her own family that God will bless her with when the right time comes; “God bless me with a God-fearing man, honest, responsible, faithful, trustworthy and loving man cause where there’s no love, and all that, comes hatred, negativity, and breakups or divorces…never let me experience one of this in my life, Oh, Lord.” That was her prayer.
All grown now a young woman of integrity. She never gave up in life. She prayed and ask God to give her the strength to endure it all. And faith was what God gave her to live with.
May God bless and reward her for her strong character and faith.
The only words I could leave Melanin with were this in
Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)” 10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
This might be you too. Maybe you have given up in life. Everyone is against you, no matter what you do they say there is nothing good that can come out of you. Everywhere you go, everyone, you meet is carrying a negative thought and a bad image about you.
No! that’s just what they think, and that’s according to them. The good news is, that the one who created you and them, the author of our lives, has a peaceful and positive thought towards you. The Almighty God, who knew you even before you were born, knows your today and tomorrow. And most of all, He holds your destiny.
You got a great friend like no other. All you need is to build your relationship with him, through prayer, faith, and trust and He will change your life completely. So don’t ever give up. The Lord has your back. Let Him take the wheel.
I will fear nothing for God is with me, Lion Of Judah. Promise keeper, He is a faithful God. He’s my strength and my helper in times of trouble. My God will hold me to my victory. This is an assurance that despite the darkness, in front of me, the desert, the mountains, and the valleys, my God is still with me and nothing is bigger for Him or far much worse for Him. He is in command. Above it all, God comes when we least expect, that moment you’re down, no strength to carry on, almost giving up everything in life, all seems to be lost, at your weakest point, that’s when the light comes and through Christ, things overturn surprisingly.
